Fun on Long Island is going to have another meaning after you experience the thrill of Indoor Karting. Pole Position Raceway is HUGE, 120,000 square foot facility that boasts two quarter mile tracks with the latest high-performance, all-electric, indoor karts capable of speeds up to 45mph. There are event & meeting rooms that cater to any event, from birthday parties and celebrations to bachelor parties and corporate events. From individual races to group races and even memberships, everyone 48inches or taller can enjoy the thrill of racing.

While racing may not cater to your little Macaroni Kid, tweens, teens, and even you will have a blast. Adult/Youth races are for those 58" tall ($20-25) and Junior races are for those between 48" and 58". Junior race cars are a little smaller and slower than Adult/Youth race cars, but equally as fun. Every racer is required to wear a headsock (provided) under their helmet and they MUST wear sneakers or closed-toe shoes. (Sneakers are available for rent if you forget.) In order to drive, racers must also have a temporary race license ($5) or be a member. (Five membership types that are $65+ and include race credits, a tshirt, discounts and promotional offers, and more) They are open all week. Monday-Thursday 12pm-10pm, Friday 12pm-11pm, Saturday 10am-12am, and Sunday 10am-9pm

Pole Position Raceway is one of a leading chain of state-of-the-art indoor motorsports entertainment facilites. The set on the East Coast are owned by a husband and wife team, Eyal Farage and Karen Davis-Farage, who also operate the Jersey City, NJ, Syracuse, NY, Buffalo, NY, and soon to open Rochester, NY locations. This facility is an excellent addition to the Town of Babylon, as it will add 50 new jobs to the local economy. What I probably liked better than actually racing (SO much fun!) was learning that the business owners are committed to supporting the communities it serves. Pole Position Raceway has a give-back charter, CAReS. It stands for Cancer, Alzheimer's, Recovery, and thoSe in need and they partner with any local charity (especially 501s) to help them with their fundraising initiatives year-round.
